How Paypal In India Sucks: Every Freelancer’s Story
I don’t understand why India and PayPal cannot be friends.
.
Why this concern? YOU CANNOT REFUND THE FUCKING TRANSACTION.
.
Okay, So what happens is. Assume someone purchased a $200 thing on your site/store. He/she didn’t like the product after two days and your refund period is 7 days.
.
PayPal will auto-withdraw money to your bank account within the first 24 hours of the transaction if the transaction is not on hold.
.
After two days, You cannot fucking refund the transaction If you don’t have enough balance in your PayPal wallet. And guess what, you can’t load the money in your PayPal wallet.
.
So, How you will refund? You will send a payment to your customer directly.
.
The problem with this method is, The money is not reversed. The bigger problem with this method is, Your customer will lose the PayPal fees. So, If you send $200 back, Your customer will get around $185 or something. If you want to pay the full $200, you have to pay more than $217.
.
But, you are already in a loss of $15 because PayPal deducted the fees when you received the payment from the customer 2 days ago.
.
So, If you send $217–220, you are in the loss of ~$35 to let the customer try your product. And if you send $200, you are in loss of ~$15 and your customer is in the loss for ~$15.
.
******* It is already bad, but let’s make it worse *******
.
WHEN YOU RECEIVE: The conversion rate you get is always around ~2.5Rs less than the regular price.
.
WHEN YOU SEND: The conversion rate you get is always around ~2Rs higher than the regular price.
.
PayPal and India can solve this issue by being a little bit fair.
